DTE and The ARK To Promote Greencurrents
Alternative Energy

DTE Energy and Ann Arbor's music venue The Ark Thursday announced a  partnership to promote renewable energy in Michigan.

November will be Green Energy month at The Ark. During the month, all electricity used at the concert venue will be offset by renewable power provided under DTE Energy's GreenCurrents renewable energy program.

Additionally, anyone who enrolls in GreenCurrents at The Ark in November will receive a free music CD or a ticket to an upcoming Ark performance.

GreenCurrents is a voluntary program that enables DTE Energy's electric customers to "green up" their power with renewable energy created from sustainable sources like the wind and biomass. For as little as $2.50 extra a month, GreenCurrents customers can help improve the environment and support the development of new renewable energy projects in Michigan.

The Ark is a non-profit organization that hosts more than 300 live performances a year, including 28 shows that are scheduled for November. Marianne James, Managing Director at The Ark, believes the partnership with DTE Energy will be beneficial for both organizations.

Green Energy month at The Ark will kick off Oct. 30 with a free concert featuring Detroit band Zebula Avenue. Anyone enrolling in GreenCurrents that night -- or at any Ark show in November -- will receive a CD from that evening's performer; the new Mountain Heart CD, Road That Never Ends, recorded live at The Ark; or a ticket to an upcoming Ark performance (up to a $20 value).

More information about Green Energy month at The Ark is available at www.theark.org, or by calling (734) 761-1800. Additional information on DTE Energy's GreenCurrents program is available at www.GreenCurrents.com, or by calling (866) 207-6955.
